Organic Weed Control
After you have received the results of your soil test and begin to correct any fertility imbalances (recommendations will be listed from the test lab along with contact information to answer any questions you may have)the best defense against weeds and crabgrass is to continually over seed your lawn. The thicker the turf, the less likelihood of weeds to take control. As with any living organism, aging causes decline. Continual over seeding keeps your lawn young and vigorous and therefore able to compete with any of the unsightly weeds that maybe trying to establish themselves in your lawn. This is the perfect time of year to overseed and get a jump on those unwanted weeds and crabgrass.

Soil Testing
The first thing you must do before starting an organic lawn or garden program is to have your soil tested. The test will determine what is needed to improve the health of the soil. Many synthetic programs over time destroy the natural biological life of the soil and make it more difficult for plants to survive without continuous inputs from us. The organic approach rebuilds the soil life (biology)and moves the lawn or garden closer to self sustainability, with less inputs from us, as nature had intended. This is a great time of the year to have your soil tested.

Why Organic
It is environmentally the right thing to do. By practicing organic methods within the landscape we maintain soil health, eliminate synthetic pesticide and synthetic fertilizer use, increase landscape diversity and improve the health and well-being of the people and web of life in our care. Landscapes designed and maintained organically, over time, reduce the need for wasteful water practices and create a balanced self sustainable environment for all to enjoy for generations to come.
